2010.06.12 - Lonesome

Lonesome

This lone tree is on top of a rock that must stand around 60 feet in height, mostly vertical in shape.  We went for a LONG hike at the Pinnacles today (http://www.nps.gov/pinn).  We took on every path in the park, yowsers.  We are sore but had a fantastic time.  This rock is next to Condor Crag where some of our wonderful (and rare) California condors live.

2010.02.15 - Stinson to Tamalpais

Life from Death

Today was another great day to be outside.  My feet are nice and tired after a quick paced three hour hike with about 1,700' elevation change . . . whew.  The hike started in Stinson Beach and went up Mt. Tamalpais.  There were many waterfalls and the recent rains made for a verdant trail.  Mushrooms were everywhere (note the orange ones in the photograph).
