2010.07.30 - Paramount Theater

Proscenium

Great Entrance

Tonight was my first introduction to the great Paramount Theater in Oakland, California (http://www.paramounttheatre.com/).  Wow, wow, wow.  We went to see the original King Kong in black in white.  Before the show there was a cartoon and an organist.  I felt like I was taken back in time ... and I loved it.  I can't wait to go back.

This is a detail from one of two pillows Michelle put together for our window seat.

2010.07.25 - Hippy Van

Hippy Van

In Santa Barbara we encountered a self proclaimed hippy and his, well, eclectic van.  On one side he modified a hooka to come through the van and built in a little bowl so he (or others) can get high.  He was getting high when we met him.

Reflection in Sunglasses

We had an awesome time at the Indie-mart today (http://www.indie-mart.com/).  It was outdoors in the Potrero Hill neighborhood (17th and Wisconsin).  This is a MUCH better location then the Independent (http://www.theindependentsf.com/) as there is now enough room to stretch your arms.  I can't wait for the next one at Alamo Square ... maybe I'll see you there.

2010.07.17 - In The Fog

In The Fog

... is where we found ourselves this morning.  We also found ourselves with some sore puppies after 'double dip(sea)ing' on the Dipsea trail.  14.8 mile hike today (7.4 one way and then 7.4 back).

2010.07.11 - Slide Suprise

Slide Suprise

Michelle took me to one of the coolest (and smallest) parks in San Francisco ... Seward Park.  They have this awesome little slide.  Michelle hinted that we would need to bring some cardboard for a date today and I couldn't figure out what it was for.  It makes for a fun ride.

2010.07.10 - Not Here

Not Here

This had to have taken some serious effort from the homeowner to make this stencil.  They spray painted 4 or 5 of these in front of their house.  Love it.

Street Walker

I thought this note was hilarious.  FYI, Jamie Dimon is the CEO of Chase.

Sunburnt Self Portrait

Look at the cheekbones.  I wore goggles on Mt. Shasta and that left me with a good sunburn outline.  You can see a bit of that on the neck as well.

2010.07.04 - Glacading

Glacading

Happy 4th of July!  I spent my 4th glacading down Mt. Shasta ... most fun you can have on a snow/ice covered mountain.  You use an ice ax to control your speed and slide on your butt.  If things get out of control you flip onto your belly and dig the ax into the ice/snow and try not to bust your chin open with the adze.
