2010.06.28 - Victory

Victory

You have probably seen this in a photo series from San Francisco.  It is one of our more famous monuments.  The statuete is of 'Victory'.  The monument was dedicated to Admiral Dewey's battle victory in the Spanish American War.

2010.06.26 - Shadows & Stairs

Shadows & Stairs

I snapped this right as one person left the stair and another began to approach.  I am often suprised by how quickly an opportunity reveals itself and then just as quickly vanishes away.  It makes me appreciate all the more when the timing works out.

2010.06.21 - Shaved

Shaved

Whew ... that was a long evening of working on flooring.  All I have to do now is nail in a couple more pieces, stain and put on a coat of polyurethane.

2010.06.19 - Ticking

Ticking

Good times never seem to last long enough.  Today was a great.  It was great spending the day with Brad, Ann, Ross and Justine.

Imposing

500 Montgomery was being scaffolded today.  I was struck by the presence it made.

Sweet

Yummy, yummy.  I love to be suprised with food.

Pattern

Doilys are fun . . . really.

2010.06.14 - Sky Over ... Mountains?

Sky Over ... Mountains?

I love the summer night sky.  For a second I thought I was camping somewhere looking at it over the mountains ... then I snapped back to reality and realized they were buildings and I was standing in a parking lot.

Don't go looking too long at the sun ...

2010.06.12 - Lonesome

Lonesome

This lone tree is on top of a rock that must stand around 60 feet in height, mostly vertical in shape.  We went for a LONG hike at the Pinnacles today (http://www.nps.gov/pinn).  We took on every path in the park, yowsers.  We are sore but had a fantastic time.  This rock is next to Condor Crag where some of our wonderful (and rare) California condors live.

2010.06.10 - Strength

Strength

Some things look better in black and white.  This building (the old US Mint) on 5th, between Mission and Market, street is one of them.

2010.06.09 - Color TV

Color TV

I found this TV at our local 'trash corner' ... you know the one.  It is that corner in your neighborhood where everyone seems to dump their unwanted goods.  I thought it would be fun to make the background of this image look like fuzzy black and white television and leave the television in color ... get the joke?

2010.06.08 - Convergence

Convergence

I hate looking at above ground wires but love photographing them . . . weird.

2010.06.07 - Abstracts

Light Abstract

Shadow Abstract

I was fooling around with my camera phone today and accidently took the first image (Light Abstract).  As I walked down the sidewalk I noticed an opportunity to balance the first photo with the second.  This was a fun suprise.

2010.06.04 - Quail Yolks

Quail Yolks

This is where I started off making quail egg mayo with parsley and chives from our window garden, lemon from our back yard and pepper (from a grinder ;-)).

2010.06.03 - Reality Check

Reality Check

I was studying on one of the bridges connecting the Embarcaderos when I looked behind me and was struck by how artificial the city looked (hence the title).  This looks more like a graphic excercise for a city proposal than reality.
