The Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County is a beautiful place.  I make my way there around 10 times a year (mostly for the wine).  I love how the vineyards appear as a colorful ocean rippling through the valley.

Trying On A Coat

A Holga (toy camera) shot perhaps?  Nope.  Sorry to dissapoint .... :-).  I took this at the Alameda Antiques Faire (be sure to check out my older posts from the faire) with my D300s.  In Photoshop I created a new layer and filled it completely with a deep blue color (000d5e).  I then chose 'exclusion', adjusted the opacity and voila!  Well almost .... I also added a bit of a vignette.  New technology for an old look ... just like the gal in this photo.

These are some of the most famous homes in the U.S. ... the Painted Ladies off of Alamo Square in San Francisco.

500 Montgomery was being scaffolded today.  I was struck by the presence it made.

Some things look better in black and white.  This building (the old US Mint) on 5th, between Mission and Market, street is one of them.

Convergence

I hate looking at above ground wires but love photographing them . . . weird.

Alamere Falls is a (you guessed it) a waterfall that runs off a cliff and runs right into the Pacific.

Shadows in the Night Sky

Where the posts have been the last few days?  Well this photo is one of the first taken from an area where cell phones and computers do not get reception (I didn't carry a computer with me).  We had a FANTASTIC weekend at Point Reyes National Seashore.  About 3 months ago Michelle and I drove up to the visitor center to make our reservation.  It was well worth the advance effort.  We hiked about 26 miles, taking in the beauty this area has to offer.  It was a very relaxing time.  Cheers to Michelle, Lori & Patrick.

Enclosing

I was running off to a meeting this morning when by chace I looked up towards the sky . . . probably looking for any chance of rain.  This composition struck me with its strong geometry and patterns.

The sky finally cleared up today and left us a beautiful blue sky.
